Information

Located on the north east coast in the town of St. Pauls Bay, the Gillieru is a lovely 4* boutique hotel which enjoys a prime location over looking the picturesque bay.

The global area of St. Pauls Bay is made up chiefly of three localities. Qawra is situated to the southern tip of St. Pauls Bay and is made up mostly of the big resort hotels. Bugibba is situated in the centre of St. Pauls Bay and consists of the commercial areas containing restaurants, bars, entertainment venues as well as a good mixture of hotel accommodation. St. Pauls Bay is the northern tip of these three localities and the Gillieru sits at the starting point between Bugibba and St. Pauls Bay.

The Gillieru Harbour Hotel is a detached property with no adjacent buildings either side making this boutique hotel ideal for clients who like to be relatively close to the centre but accommodated in a hotel offering a quiet atmosphere to its guests. The centre areas of Bugibba where you can find a wide selection of dining, shopping, drinking and other opportunities is a 10-minute walk along the promenade.

The Gillieru Harbour Hotel is located in the old part of St. Pauls Bay but it commends truly breathtaking views of both the picturesque fishing harbour with its multitudes of local Maltese fishing Dghajsa boats as well as the historic St.Paul’s Islands.  The islands of St. Paul are the last stop between St. Pauls Bay and the wide-open blue Mediterranean Sea.

The enviable location of the Gillieru Harbour Hotel is such that guests can enjoy the lively neighbouring resorts during the day and early evening, but return to the quiet of the hotel for peaceful nights.

Points of Interest

St. Paul's Bay and its neighbours Buġibba and Qawra are Malta's largest, seaside resorts. They offer plentiful accommodation ranging from self-catering apartments to hotel complexes and a variety of nightlife and leisure options.

The coastline here has some wonderful open sea views and a vista across to St. Paul's Island, where, according to legend, the ship carrying the Apostle is said to have been wrecked. The coastline promenade provides a long, though mostly level and an easy walk from St. Paul's Bay to Qawra Point, with its tower and views over Salina Bay. St. Paul's Bay started life as a small fishing village. The main tourist zone is concentrated on the promontory east of St. Paul's Church towards the modern resorts of Bugibba and Qawra.

Xemxija, on the inner northern shore of St. Paul's Bay, has also developed into a holiday centre.
