Located on the far northern coast of Malta overlooking the islands of Gozo and Comino, the Ramla Bay Resort is widely known to be one of the most secluded and peaceful hotels in the Maltese islands.
The northern areas of Malta are highly renowned for the wonderful beaches as well as the possibilities for swimming in the clear seas. The coastal waters around these northern localities are as good as anywhere in the Mediterranean. The Ramla Bay Resort stands on a secluded peninsula on Malta's most northern coast, looking across the sparkling waters towards the neighbouring islands of Gozo and Comino.
Although the Ramla Bay is a peacefully secluded hotel, transport links to all areas of Malta can be found a short distance from the hotel and the local town of Mellieha is only a 10-minute drive to the south of the resort. The crossing to Malta's sister island of Gozo is a short distance from the hotel and guests at the Ramla Bay can see the ferry boats coming and going in the distance.
The Ramla Bay is a resort in every sense with a beautiful private sandy beach, landscaped gardens and a rocky foreshore that all blend totally with the unspoilt, local countryside to the rear of the hotel. The minimum board basis at the Ramla Bay Resort is 'Breakfast', although due to the remote location of this resort, it is recommended that customers consider booking at least 'Half board' for their holiday at the hotel. Dinner is served at the main 'Horizon' Restaurant which is designed in rich earthy tones and also incorporating an alfresco terrace. Guests choosing to book on an all-inclusive basis will also take their additional meals in this restaurant.
The Sunset Lounge Bar is located next to the lobby, where guests can enjoy afternoon tea and cakes from midday to 16:00 hrs. The bar is very comfortable with sofa areas and an outside terrace. This venue also hosts live entertainment at the resort.
Sea Breeze Pool Bar - Mediterranean and Maltese snacks are served during the day and an à la carte menu in the evening.

Mellieha was once an isolated 15th-century hamlet perched on the ridge overlooking Ghadira Bay. Re-inhabited in the early 18th century, it has since developed into a flourishing town though it retains a quaint historic centre with narrow streets and stepped alleys. From the terrace of the Parish Church, there is a panoramic view over Mellieha Bay and the surrounding countryside. Mellieha today is a modern town noted for its large private villas and houses which have been built on land overlooking the bay. While the town has developed into a resort, it has managed to retain some of its rural characters.

Although the hotel has its own private beach, the nearby locality of Mellieha Bay boasts the largest sandy beach in Malta. The sweeping bay of gently shelving sand provides a totally family-friendly bathing experience. The water depth up to 50 metres from the shoreline is less than 1 metre making Mellieha bay extremely popular for families with young children. Set high on the hill above the bay is the traditional old town of Mellieha, largely unaffected by the summer bustle below.

Construction Works
The construction of the main building is complete and the finishing works therein are now very close to completion. The only remaining construction works are those relating to the spa complex, which is a separate building adjacent to the Resort’s main entrance. Finishing and landscaping works are also being carried out at the new outdoor pool area and around the outside of the main building. Whilst the new spa is nearing completion, the existing spa is still fully operational and thus no client will be losing any of the facilities that are expected at the resort.
Works are generally being carried out every day between 0700hrs and 1700hrs. A mobile crane and a lifter is brought on site on certain days, as may be required.
We shall continue to do our utmost to minimise the inconvenience caused by the works, but guests may still experience some disturbance which is normally associated with such works.
The two outdoor pools, the indoor pool, the existing spa and the beach are all available at this time.

Hotel Construction Winter 2016-2017
The construction works on the main building is now complete, while works on the adjacent spa are at the final stages and are expected to be practically complete by mid-March 2017. There is currently one tower crane on site, which will be dismantled later this month.
At the moment, works are generally being carried out every day between 07:00 and 19:00 hrs; however, on certain days, works may continue up to 21:00 hrs. In the morning, a number of workmen arrive at 06:00 hrs, but during the first hour of their shift they only carry out light preparatory works so as to keep the noise level down to a minimum.
The works are being carried out only at the North end of the Resort. This site will continue to be segregated and enclosed for safety reasons and to reduce the visual impact. However, the works in progress and the tower cranes are still visible from certain parts of the Resort. The hotel will do its utmost to minimise the inconvenience caused by the works, but guests may still experience some disturbance which is normally associated with such works.
It is expected that the project as a whole will be completed and made fully operational in May 2017.

Eco Tax on Accommodation
The Ministry of Tourism has confirmed that the implementation of the Eco Tax on Accommodation will become effective on 1st April 2016 (effective date) and will be applicable for all adult guests staying in hotels and other hosted accommodation.
The tax will be €0.50 per adult per night, capped at a maximum of €5.00 per adult per stay.
The tax will be collected directly by the accommodation service provider prior to check out and remitted to Government.
The tax also applies to any accommodation that was reserved before the announcement of the Eco Tax but which will be availed of on or after the effective date. It is our understanding that any reservations that overlap the effective date will be subject to the tax for the portion of the reservation after the effective date.
