Hotel Porto Azzurro is a three-star family run Aparthotel situated in Xemxija over the picturesque port of St. Paul’s Bay on the one side and views of the Maltese countryside on the other.
The northern localities of Malta are especially popular with winter and spring walkers and the Porto Azzurro Aparthotel, which is situated in Xemxija Bay, is perfectly placed to take advantage of this popularity. The hotel which overlooks the picturesque St. Paul’s Bay has fantastic views of the sea from the front of the hotel and boasts breathtaking views of the Maltese countryside to the rear of the hotel
Mizieb, a natural forested area to the north and the west of Malta is very popular with tourists and locals for its open spaces and nature trails. Some of the finest walks through the Maltese countryside have their origins from the area of Mizieb. Just 100 metres from the Porto Azzurro you can find the starting point of a popular trail which takes you up the valley side and into the heart of the Maltese countryside.
The Porto Azzurro is an aparthotel which offers a choice of hotel rooms or self-catering units in modern and comfortable surroundings. A lovely garden area to the rear of the hotel offers a secluded pool area where the guests of the hotel can enjoy relaxing afternoons in the afternoon sun.

St. Paul's Bay and its neighbours Buġibba and Qawra are Malta's largest, seaside resorts. They offer plentiful accommodation ranging from self-catering apartments to hotel complexes and a variety of nightlife and leisure options.
The coastline here has some wonderful open sea views and a vista across to St. Paul's Island, where, according to legend, the ship carrying the Apostle is said to have been wrecked. The coastline promenade provides a long, though mostly level and easy walk from St. Paul's Bay all the way to Qawra Point, with its tower and views over Salina Bay. St. Paul's Bay started life as a small fishing village. The main tourist zone is concentrated on the promontory east of St. Paul's Church towards the modern resorts of Bugibba and Qawra.
Xemxija, on the inner northern shore of St. Paul's Bay, has also developed into a holiday centre.

The adjoining resorts of Qawra and Bugibba are set on the large St Paul’s Bay, where St Paul was allegedly shipwrecked. Both resorts were purpose-built in the 1980s. Bugibba has a small square, shops, bars, budget restaurants, nightclubs and a small harbour from which several pleasure boat excursions run. Swimming and water sports take place off the promenade and at lidos. Activities in Qawra tend to be hotel-based.

Eco Tax on Accommodation
The Ministry of Tourism has confirmed that the implementation of the Eco Tax on Accommodation will become effective on 1st April 2016 (effective date) and will be applicable for all adult guests staying in hotels and other hosted accommodation.
The tax will be €0.50 per adult per night, capped at a maximum of €5.00 per adult per stay.
The tax will be collected directly by the accommodation service provider prior to check out and remitted to Government.
The tax also applies to any accommodation that was reserved before the announcement of the Eco Tax but which will be availed of on or after the effective date. It is our understanding that any reservations that overlap the effective date will be subject to the tax for the portion of the reservation after the effective date.
