Information

The Phoenicia Hotel which sits majestically over looking the capital city of Valletta and is built on 7 acres of landscaped gardens could possibly be referred to as the grand old dame of Malta having been built in the 1930's.

Valletta is not only the capital of Malta, it is also a registered world 'Heritage' city combining culture with tradition. Every capital city therefore deserves a hotel which totally encapsulates this is in every sense. The Phoenicia Malta Hotel is the islands leading 'Classic' Hotel having been designed in the 1920's and finally built in the 1930's. Set in 7 acres of lush gardens, this hotel brings guests back to a by gone age with service being delivered with a personal touch throughout the hotel.

The Phoenicia which is located on top of the hill between the two main harbours of Malta stands tall at the entrance to Valletta. The main 'Grand harbour' is located to the front of the hotel whilst the smaller 'Marsamxett harbour' can be seen from the rear of the hotel as well as from the gardens of the Phoenicia.

The hotel is just a short stroll away from the main city walls of Valletta, bringing this old city of culture and heritage within touching distance of the Phoenicia. The entrance to Valletta which can be seen from the hotel is the gateway to a city rich in architecture and heritage. A myriad of Baroque palaces, museums and old taverns are waiting to be discovered. The famous Manoel theatre is located in a small side street of Valletta.

The main terminus for the islands route buses is located directly next to the grounds of the hotel therefore guests of the Phoenicia Hotel have the perfect opportunity to explore Malta and its neighbouring islands without having to go too far from the hotel in order to find a bus connection.

Dining

Whilst the modern theme in hotels is to serve all meals in a buffet style in order to generate a rapid turn around of guests, dining at the Phoenicia is an experience to be savoured and enjoyed.  Whilst breakfast is served largely as a buffet, dinner is altogether different.  The main 'Phoenix' restaurant is the venue for an evening dinner served daily on a A la carte theme with each course individually prepared to the guests satisfaction.

The 'Pegasus' Brasserie is set in an informal atmosphere and designed in a warm decor and serves a selection of French and Mediterranean fare. This restaurant specialises in salads, pasta and grills.

The 'Palm Court' which is set in a bright and spacious lounge atmosphere with plush sofas serves high teas as well as light cafe lunches which the 'Club' Bar is a typically colonial style bar serving a selection of exotic wines, cocktails, fine champagne and cigars.

The Phoenicia Malta Hotel offers a 'Flexi dine' option which means guests can pre book a fixed number of dinners and use them as and when they wish to.
