Gozo has some of the best swimming possibilities in all of the Maltese islands and many of them are within easy reach of the Grand Hotel. Gozo is also famed for its history and culture with the ‘Ggantija’, the worlds oldest free standing only a short drive from the hotel.
Sitting on the hillside overlooking the majestic harbour, the Grand is a wonderfully elegant 4* boutique hotel which offers a level of service and comfort that will surely get any Gozo vacation off to a perfect start. The hotel has been built in a gently sloping manner ensuring that guests with rooms overlooking the picturesque harbour are assured of absolute privacy whilst they relax on the large private balconies.

The main restaurant of the Grand Hotel is open daily for all meals from breakfast, lunch and dinner. The restaurant serves a range of Continental and Mediterranean dishes whilst several local Gozo specialities are also offered to the guests. During the warmer summer months, the restaurant organizes several times during the week Al Fresco dining on the roof terrace.
Gozo is particularly renowned for its fresh local fish and several leading restaurants around the island serve the best of the days catch throughout the day.

Gozo is renowned as the mythical island of Calypso, who drew Homer's hero Ulysses to its shores for a seven-year hiatus. Though there are only five kilometres of sea between Malta and Gozo, the islands are distinctly different from each other. Gozo is a third of the size of Malta, more rural and tranquil, greener, less bustling but still full of life. While authentic houses of character have been renovated to suit the most exigent contemporary clients are the speciality of Gozo, the Island also has luxurious hotels. Eco Tax on Accommodation
The Ministry of Tourism has confirmed that the implementation of the Eco Tax on Accommodation will become effective on 1st April 2016 (effective date) and will be applicable for all adult guests staying in hotels and other hosted accommodation.
The tax will be €0.50 per adult per night, capped at a maximum of €5.00 per adult per stay.
The tax will be collected directly by the accommodation service provider prior to check out and remitted to Government.
The tax also applies to any accommodation that was reserved before the announcement of the Eco Tax but which will be availed of on or after the effective date. It is our understanding that any reservations that overlap the effective date will be subject to the tax for the portion of the reservation after the effective date.
