The Intercontinental Malta is Malta’s foremost contemporary 5* hotel and offers the largest variety of room options on the island. The Hotel is directly in the centre of this cosmopolitan resort.
The resort of St. Julians on the east coast of Malta also incorporates the smaller and hugely popular nightlife centre called ‘Paceville’. In this locality, guests can find a huge choice of dining and leisure activities where cuisines from around the world can be found within a short walking distance. Some of Malta’s most popular nightspots can also be found in the resort of ‘Paceville’.
The Intercontinental Hotel is Malta’s largest hotel with a choice of over 450 rooms made up of varying categories. Although the hotel is located directly in the centre of Paceville, it has been designed in a manner that insulates it from the activities around the hotel and guests will enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of this resort.
The Intercontinental Hotel is the only hotel in St. Julians with a private section on the popular beach at St. Georges Bay. During the summer months, guests at this hotel have the advantage of enjoying the beach in private surroundings where beds and sunshades are free of charge.

The Intercontinental Malta has some of the best facilities of any hotel on Malta and is especially popular with guests who are looking for a hotel with extensive sporting and fitness options available to guests. ‘Cynergi’ fitness centre boasts state of the art gym equipment and contains a selection of over 100 different machines. Separate sauna and steam rooms, two squash courts and television monitors spread around the gymnasium showing the latest in sports and entertainment shows keep you company whilst you work out.
The Intercontinental beach club is conveniently located on the nearby sands of St. Georges Bay. The Hotel has a private section of beach which includes complimentary sunbeds and parasols for its guests. On the roof deck of the hotel, the 47-metre panoramic lagoon pool is the largest of any roof pool on the island, whilst the 17-metre long indoor pool is also the largest on the island.

St. Julian's is now a major residential and tourist centre, and home to some of Malta's newest hotels.
It is now an extension of Sliema although it started life as a small fishing port based on Spinola and Balluta Bays. St. Julian's merges with Paceville, Malta's main nightlife centre where there are clubs, casinos and numerous restaurants, cafes and bars.
Picturesque Spinola Bay is still used by fishermen whose traditional boats are housed just below the restaurants. The bay is particularly attractive at night and as a venue for open-air dining. The elegant Spinola Palace, built in 1658 by an Italian knight, Giovanni Spinola, is the landmark historic building on the bay.

The Bay Street complex which has lots of popular boutiques and excellent restaurants is only 100 metres from the Intercontinental hotel whilst the sandy beach of St. Georges Bay is only 200 metres from the hotel. The pretty Spinola Bay which is lined with restaurants overlooking colourful Maltese fishing boats is a short walk from the hotel.

Eco Tax on Accommodation
The Ministry of Tourism has confirmed that the implementation of the Eco Tax on Accommodation will become effective on 1st April 2016 (effective date) and will be applicable for all adult guests staying in hotels and other hosted accommodation.
The tax will be €0.50 per adult per night, capped at a maximum of €5.00 per adult per stay.
The tax will be collected directly by the accommodation service provider prior to check out and remitted to Government.
The tax also applies to any accommodation that was reserved before the announcement of the Eco Tax but which will be availed of on or after the effective date. It is our understanding that any reservations that overlap the effective date will be subject to the tax for the portion of the reservation after the effective date.
